Operationalizing Threat Intelligence at the Network Layer

By integrating threat intelligence into the network layer, security and network operations teams often find that both their effectiveness and efficiencies improve.

Today we are pleased to announce an update to LookingGlass’ suite of threat mitigation applications dubbed the ‘NetX’ product line. The ‘NetX’ line combines a unique integration of next generation Deep Packet Processing (DPP) appliances and applications, including LookingGlass NetDefender, LookingGlass NetSentry, and LookingGlass DNS Defender. The update includes an enhanced CS-4000E DPP appliance, which will enable security teams to operationalize threat intelligence and discover and mitigate network threats faster, easier, and earlier.

The newly launched CS-4000E employs the same secure processing environment and maintains the security pedigree of the market leading CS-4000 (hardened OS and cross-domain guard capabilities) to deliver unparalleled protection to the most security conscious organizations in the world.

In addition to the enhanced CS-4000E platform, the ‘NetX’ line includes a newly released solution, LookingGlass NetSentry. This is a high-performance network intrusion detection system (NIDS) that processes up to 40 Gigabits per second (Gbps) of network traffic in a single appliance running multiple SNORT instances.

The updated threat mitigation portfolio also provides the following benefits to the existing DNS Defender and NetDefender – formerly Trusted Cyber Solution Orchestrator (TCSO) – solutions:

  • DNS Defender – offers dynamic threat defense by blocking the very first communication between embedded malware and the command and control (C2) servers using access control lists provided by LookingGlass ScoutVision or the customer.
  • NetDefender – the first and only cybersecurity solution to enable multiple and independent advanced malware defenses to work together to stop attacks sooner by harnessing LookingGlass DPP on the CS-4000E for traffic steering and inline threat mitigation.

Organizations are constantly faced with selection, deployment, and operation of complex and often conflicting defenses to address today’s sophisticated Internet-born threats. The LookingGlass ‘NetX’ product line allows for the integration of network security appliances and applications to offer the industry’s only contextual threat visibility combined with threat intelligence-driven dynamic defense solutions.
